Diane Gashumba holds a medical degree with a specialist M.A. in Pediatrics.
She was appointed Minister of Health in 2016. Prior to that she was Minister for Gender and for Family Development.
Diane Gashumba was Medical Director of Kibagabaga Hospital from 2006 to 2009. From 2009 to 2012 she was Technical Director at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. From 2012 to 2014, Diane Gashumba was Senior Team Leader for Quality at USAID Rwanda Family Health Project before being appointed Deputy Chief of Party of Clinical Services for the Rwanda Family Health Project at CHEMONICS International.
