Édouard PHILIPPE

After graduating from the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in 1992, Édouard Philippe enrolled in the "Marc Bloch" class of 1995-1997 at the National School of Administration (ENA), graduating in 1997.
In 1994, he completed his military service as an Artillery Officer, and would continue to serve as an Officer in the operational reserve for several more years.
From 1997 to 2002 he was a member of the Conseil d’État (Administrative Supreme Court), assigned to the litigation section.
In 2001, Édouard Philippe joined Mayor Antoine Rufenacht's municipal team and was appointed Deputy Mayor of Le Havre.
In 2002, he left the Conseil d’État to take up position as Managing Director of Services for the UMP political party (now succeeded by Les Républicains).
In 2005, he joined the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.
In 2007 he was appointed advisor to the Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Alain Juppé.
From October 2007 to October 2010, he served as Director of Public Affairs at AREVA.
In October 2010, he was elected to replace Antoine Rufenacht as Mayor of Le Havre.
From March 2011 to July 2012, he assumed responsibilities in the law firm Wilhelm & Associés.
On 17 June 2012, he was elected MP for the 7th constituency of Seine-Maritime.
In March 2014, he was re-elected Mayor of Le Havre during the first round. He is also President of the Communauté de l’Agglomération Havraise (Intermunicipal institution for the Le Havre urban agglomeration).
