Per Okkels has led the Ministry since 2011.
Per Okkels is born in 1954 and holds a MA in political science.
With more than 35 years of experience, Per Okkels has occupied a number of key positions across the different levels of the in the Danish healthcare system.
Prior to taking on his current role as the most influential civil servant in the Danish Healthcare system, Per Okkels spent 3 years as CEO for the association of Danish Regions representing the collective interests of the five regions responsible for delivering healthcare.
Per Okkels was CEO of Region North 2006-2008.
