On May 17, 2017, Sophie Cluzel was appointed Minister of State for Disabled People, attached to the Prime Minister.

Sophie Cluzel holds a master's degree from the Marseille Business School.

Career: Manager of a boatyard in Florida – Reporting Manager for Esso in London – Director of the Descamps stores network

In 1998, she became involved in associative militancy in favor of people with disabilities, being directly involved as a parent. Since then, she has been the Founder and President of various associations for the education of disabled children. She was President of the FNASEPH (National Federation of Disabled Pupil Support Associations).

She was Administrator of UNAPEI (Associations of relatives and friends of the mentally handicapped) from 2011 to 2013. In January 2012, she organized the first Grenelle for the integration of disabled youth into Society, where nearly 50 local and national associations wrote a proposal of measures handed down to the presidential candidates.

She is Chevalier de l’ordre national du Mérite (2002) and Officier de la Légion d’honneur (2016), by François Hollande at the Élysée Palace.
