Jens Spahn has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2002. Since 2018 he is Federal Minister of Health.
From 2009 to 2015 he was health policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group of the Bundestag. He has gathered his experience in government during his time as the Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance, a post he has held from 2015 to 2018.
He began his professional career as bank clerk and is a political scientist (Master of Arts degree).
