Caroline HERNU

Caroline Hernu has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Macopharma since September 2021, a family-owned company based in Tourcoing and a European leader in blood transfusion solutions. She joined Macopharma in 2010, held various roles there, including Head of Human Resources, Business Unit Director, Sales Director in Brazil and Head of Corporate Strategy before taking over the company’s leadership. Under her direction, the company has invested in production automation and robotisarion, notably through a €5 million project aimed at doubling its manufacturing capacity for transfusion filters. Macopharma produces around 20 million transfusion kits per year and employs more than 2,100 people in more than 15 countries, a scope she manages with a strong focus on innovation and industrial sovereignty. Caroline Hernu also serves on the Board of Directors of SNITEM, where she contributes to the strategic priorities of the medical device sector. An engineer by training (Master of engineering in the agri-food industry), she also graduated from INSEAD and London Business School in finance. Her career is defined by a consistent focus on placing people, innovation, and social, societal and environmental impact at the heart of her managerial decisions.
