Arnaud Mascarell is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of FineHeart, a pioneering MedTech company based near Bordeaux, France, dedicated to transforming the treatment of advanced heart failure.
With a background in Biomedical Engineering, an MBA from IAE Paris, and further entrepreneurial training through the HEC Start-Up program, Arnaud spent nearly 18 years in senior leadership roles at Medtronic, both in France and internationally, where he developed extensive expertise in cardiovascular therapies and medical innovation.
A seasoned entrepreneur in the healthcare technology sector, he co-founded ValoTec in 2005 with Lionel Cima before launching FineHeart in 2010 alongside Dr. Stéphane Garrigue and other partners. Since then, he has led the company’s mission to redefine the standard of care for patients suffering from advanced heart failure.
Under his leadership, FineHeart has developed FlowMaker®, the world’s first fully implantable cardiac flow accelerator designed to work in synergy with the native heart. Currently in clinical evaluation, this breakthrough technology has the potential to address a major unmet medical need and significantly improve patients’ quality of life.
Beyond innovation, Arnaud is committed to strengthening Europe’s healthcare sovereignty and industrial leadership. FineHeart is a co-leader in the IPCEI Tech4Cure initiative, which aims to build a strategic European ecosystem around implantable medical devices, health data, and next-generation healthcare technologies.
Arnaud also serves as Vice President of ALLIS Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the regional healthcare cluster bringing together key stakeholders across healthcare, research, innovation, and industry in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Through this role, he actively supports the growth of a dynamic health innovation ecosystem and promotes collaboration to accelerate the development of breakthrough medical technologies.
