Vice Admiral Jean-Louis Vichot served in the French Navy for 38 years, of which nearly 20 years were spent in the submarine forces. He commanded the crews of three nuclear submarines: the nuclear submarine "Le Téméraire", the nuclear attack submarines "Rubis" and "Casabianca", and, before, the coastal minesweeper "Eglantine", and has spent more than 20,000 hours submerged on board eleven different submarines.
