Christian Saout was president of AIDES, the first French association against AIDS, from 1998 to 2007. Then, he chaired the interassociative Collective Health from 2007 to 2012. He is now the Deputy Secretary General .
In connection with its charitable commitments, he is member of the High Council for the Future of Health Insurance (HCAAM) since 2004. He was also elected by his peers to chair the National Health Conference for the 2006-2010 term of office.
He is a member (associated entity) of the Section for Social and Health of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council.
He is co-author with Professor Bernard Charbonnel and Prof. Dominique Bertrand's report "For a national policy therapeutic education" at the request of Madam Touraine, Minister of Health (September 2008) and, with the same co-authors of the supplementary report on "support measures for patients," at the request of Madam Touraine, Minister of Health (June 2010). It was also with Ms. Chistine d’Autume, General Inspector of Social Affairs, co-rapporteur of the mission "2011, Year of the patients and their rights" under the chairmanship of Mrs. Marina Carrère d'Encausse.
He just handed to Mrs Touraine, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, a report requested him: "Cap Santé" for experimentation accompanying projects about self-care.
