Jacques Belghiti was the Chairman of the Department of HPB Surgery and Transplantation in Hospital Beaujon - University of Paris until 2014. Member of the French Academie de Medecine and honorary member of multiple academic societies including the American College of Surgeons he was president of several surgical and transplantation societies. In 2014, he was nominated as a member of the college and chaired the medical devices evaluation board until 2017.
