Nekane Murga Eizagaechevarria is the Government Health Minister. She has a Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country (1981-1987), is a Doctor in Cardiology (Cum Laude with First Class Honours, 1991) and has developed her work as a cardiologist during almost 20 years at the Basurto University Hospital in Bilbao.
Furthermore, in recent years she has held the position of Director of the Office of Healthcare Planning, Organisation and Evaluation of the Basque Government Ministry of Health.
