A doctor specializing in public health, health economics and the assessment of medical technologies, Jean-Pierre Thierry has been, since 2015, medical advisor to France Assos Santé and full member of the Transparency Commission of Haute Health Authority (user representative). He is a board member of the Association Le Lien and Vice-President of the VBHC (Value Based Health Care) consortium. In his career, he has been project manager in national parastatal professional organizations (CESTA, CNEH, CNOM) then Director of Information Systems for Hospital Centers and Project Manager for Information Systems in ARH. He was Medical Director of an international IT publisher between 2007 and 2012. At the same time, he carried out numerous expert appraisals for the European Commission between 1992 and 2017 (DG XIII/INFSO/CONNECT, Future Emerging Technology/Human Brain Project and INEA/Electronic Exchange of Social Security Information). He is the co-author of the report "eHealth for Patient Safety" for the European Commission in 2007. He was a member of the board then Chair (2016) of the European branch of HIMSS, Health Information System Society and eHealth Advisor of the Actions Addictions Fund (2017-2020). Its latest report "eHealth and addiction" was written in 2020 with Professor Michel Reynaud for the Interministerial Mission for the Fight against Drugs and Addictive Behaviours
