Dr Vizzini received his Medical Degree from the University of Palermo. After obtaining his diploma of specialist in Urology at the University of Messina he attended a master in International Cooperation at the "Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques" (IRIS) in Paris. He started working for UNESCO in April 2007 in the Division of Science Policy and Capacity-Building. In addition, Dr Vizzini collaborated with the American Association for the Advancement in Science (AAAS) in the field of Science Diplomacy. From 2020 to 2022 he was the Secretary General of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH).
