Stéphane JUNIQUE holds a nursing degree. After working in a service dedicated to HIV/AIDS patients, he became a parliamentary assistant at the European Parliament in 1997. From 2000 to 2008, he held various positions in Nantes in the decentralized services of the State in the field of health (Regional Directorate of Health Affairs, Drass, then Regional Health Agency, ARS). At the same time (2001), he was elected delegate of the Mutuelles de Loire-Atlantique.

In 2008, Stéphane Junique became a Director of the mutual insurance company "Harmonie Mutualité", which later became known as "Harmonie Mutuelle" and of which he was elected Chairman in June 2016. He was appointed Chairman of the VYV Group at the Group's General Meeting on June 7, 2021.

Since its creation in September 2017, he has chaired VYV3, the care and support services of the VYV Group.

Vice President of the Fédération Nationale de la Mutualité Française (FNMF), he sat on the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) on behalf of the Mutualité until April 2021, where he was deeply involved with the issue of poverty in France. After submitting, in December 2018, an opinion on "the situation of people living on the street: the urgency to act", he presented in June 2019, a report on "the eradication of extreme poverty by 2030".

He is the author, with Timothée Duverger, of "l'Égalité impossible", a manifesto for active solidarity. This book was published in May 2018 and was awarded in September 2019 the book prize on social and solidarity economy
