Isabelle LACAZE

Head of DragonFly Demonstrator

Airbus

France

A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Isabelle Lacaze trained as an aeronautical and space engineer (ISAE Sup'Aero).
As a private pilot, she has always been aware of the issues concerning air safety and the design of safe aircraft. She therefore complemented her training with a university diploma in Human Factors applied to man-machine interfaces (Paris Descartes university).
She joined Airbus, Europe's leading commercial aircraft manufacturer, where she has held a variety of leadership positions in aircraft design: from the design of complex systems in the engineering department, to flight testing, then in the A330 program management department, in supporting the airlines.
She has led a series of innovative projects to help pilots deal with unexpected events. She is the author of several patents and articles on the development of complex systems. She piloted the R&T Technology Roadmap to meet the challenges of tomorrow's aeronautics. Most recently, she lead the DragonFly demonstrator, which exposed new pilot assistances in flight on an A350, based on technologies such as AI and image processing, voice recognition and decision-making support. This new stage could see the emergence of new piloting functions in the future, enhancing flight safety and efficiency.
