Chief Executive Officer of Unicancer since January 2020, Sophie Beaupère is a Hospital Director (School of Advanced Studies in Public Health) with a University degree from Sciences Po Paris and a Master’s in public management from Paris Dauphine University.
From 2015 to 2020, she has also been Deputy Director-General of Center Léon Bérard – the French Comprehensive Cancer Center (FCCC) of Lyon – and Vice-President of the Association of Hospital Directors (ADH). Previously, she was Director of Activity and Finances at Gustave Roussy, FCCC of Villejuif, near Paris.
Sophie Beaupère collaborates with President Prof. Jean-Yves Blay in driving Unicancer’s strategic program.
A physician and cardiologist with a focus on preventative care, she is a senior lecturer at ANU Medical School and the Human Futures Fellow for the ANU College of Health and Medicine. She is chair of the Commission for the Human Future and a member of the ANU Institute for Climate, Disaster Science and Energy Change. As a physician, she involved in research on environment factors on our health and she is fascinated by the impact of how and where we live on our health and wellbeing. She co-hosts the public policy podcast Policy Forum Pod at ANU and she writes on health policy, public policy and health and climate change.
